Recent Lexington George Washington Review: "We visit Williamsburg, VA every summer and stay at our timeshare. Last year we decided to start doing long weekends in the fall when we really just need a clean, comfortable place to spend a few nights, though we were very disappointed in where we stayed last October, so this year I took my time researching hotels. My searches kept coming up with this hotel. The reviews for the most part were very good. The only thing that deterred me was "no diamonds," but they did have the "Pineapple." Well, don't let that deter you. This is a quality place to stay with a staff that could go up against any luxury 5 star hotel. The hotel lobby is spacious and welcoming. There is a nice bar, restaurant and snack shop right in the lobby when you walk in. They have a very nice, heated indoor swimming pool which we didn't get to use because the weekend weather was lovely, but had we been rained out, it would have saved our vacation. The front desk personnel was very friendly and accommodating, and given that we arrived after midnight, that was a nice plus. And over the weekend, every different employee who worked the front desk was just as friendly and eager to be helpful. I've read this comment in other review, but chose to ignore it and I'm glad I did-"the hallways are hot." This is true, the A/C in the hallways could use "a lift," however, when we opened the door to our room we were pleasantly surprised. The temperature in the room was very comfortable and the air conditioning/heating unit in the room looked very close to brand new. It is very obvious that they started rennovating the rooms first, which in my opinion is the best way to go. If I had the choice, I'd rather have a little discomfort in the halls and an excellent room than the other way around. And with the post-rennovation condition of the rooms and lobby, I don't doubt that the halls will be next. The room was nice and big for a room with two double beds, which was also comforting. We brought games and other things"
